The Aarhus University College of Engineering, located in the district of Katrinebjerg in Aarhus, houses 3,000 students and lecturers within four engineering courses: electronics, health technology and information and communication technology, as well as other employees.
The school consists of new construction and renovated commercial and industrial buildings converted for the purpose.
All IHA buildings are named after famous engineers: Edison, Kahn and Shannon. Kahn and Shannon are renovated buildings and Edison is a new building designed by C. F. Møller. Buildings for educational use such as these place particularly high demands on the acoustic properties of the building materials. DAMPA Tiles with acoustic filt provide optimal acoustic conditions in teaching situations, as well as in many other situations.
The tiles installed on the IHA are white Clip-In Tiles with a sharp edge. The sharp edge of the cassettes means that they can lie completely close, so that the ceiling has a smooth, uniform surface, only interrupted by integrated parts such as lighting and ventilation.
The DAMPA ceiling therefore promotes the study environment in terms of both aesthetics and acoustics.
