If we have to descibe the purpose of installing an acoustic ceiling or wall solution from DAMPA with one word, it would be indoor climate. Indoor climate covers many aspects, however, in most cases there is a direct tie to functions that are either directly or indirectly covered by acoustic wall and ceiling solutions from DAMPA.
In addition to the acoustic properties, you have the opportunity to further improve the indoor climate by integrating a wide range of functions in DAMPA's acoustic ceilings. This applies, among other things, to lighting, ventilation, sprinklers, speakers, AV equipment and of course also our DAMPA® Climate Ceiling – all without compromising on the coherent design.
DAMPA ceiling and wall solutions are perforated. By utilizing these perforations it is possible to optimise the acoustic environment where bothering noice is reduced. Most of our ceiling solutions can be produced in acoustic classes A, B, and C. Thus, we can always ensure that the guiding numbers for reverberation time and sound regulations are met.
E.g., in office environments you can often experience that it is hard to obtain the optimal balance between warm/cold and draught in a way that satisfies everyone.
With our metal ceilings, we have a unique opportunity to significantly optimize the indoor climate by integrating DAMPA® Climate Ceilings. The climate ceilings are based on radiation and absorb or emit heat, depending on the needs of the individual person in the room.
For DAMPA, Form Follows Function is an important focal point. But the aesthetic has at least as much influence when we talk about an optimal ceiling solution.
The individual user works most optimally in an environment where they feel comfortable. A good indoor climate therefore also depends on the user experiencing the ceiling surface as a harmonious and integrated unit without too many disturbing elements, and where the technical installations are integrated in an elegant way.
Stricter requirements for the indoor climate makes ventilation a major theme already in the beginning of planning a project. DAMPA's perforated metal ceilings are perfectly suited for diffuse ventilation, where the air is evenly distributed over the entire ceiling surface, without breaking the uniform surface.
It is also possible to integrate other ventilation systems that are placed in the space above the ceiling. This can be both fans, air conditioning or other systems that blow air out via an integrated airlock or through the perforation in the ceiling elements.
A large number of studies deal with the users' experience of workplaces in relation to access to both daylight and artificial lighting.
DAMPA's painted surfaces ensure that the ceiling surface can be used to distribute the incoming daylight. In cases where the integration of artificial lighting is needed, this can be easily done. Through many years of close cooperation with leading lighting manufacturers, we have developed integrated lighting for a selection of our ceilings. Many elegant designs have come to life over time, e.g. Piet Hein's light fixture for DAMPA® Clip-In, System-One's light fixture for DAMPA® Lamella and, most recently, our DOT ceiling tiles in collaboration with Lars Vejen and LIK.
All DAMPA ceiling and wall solutions with painted surfaces are robust and can be easily cleaned with liquid soap.
The scatter-free acoustic felt also helps to ensure that all our ceiling and wall solutions can be used in environments with high requirements for hygiene.
Since 1951 we have through our "Form-Follows-Function"-design approach strived to find the perfect ceiling solution supporting the purpose of the room, fitted to the architechtural needs and visions.
Through the ages we have supplied sustainable metal ceiling solutions for prestigious building- and marine projects worldwide due to our innovative DAMPA-mindset and our cost-effective solutions.
